“The stolen moment”

Dewailly is a Self taught artist, after a long career as a designer she moved to the painting as a normal result.

Her paintings are full of mystery and emotion, they are there when time stops and continues in very slow motion, with very deep mildness as if the person  was sadly sitting in the dark, or was   enjoying   a   rare   sunshine  ,  when someone   or   something   disrupted   her previous psychological state & posture.

This  reflex   simultaneously   alludes  to  a time lapse and an event: which was either someone  opening   the  door ,  letting  the sun  in , or someone  appearing  suddenly by   the  opened  door...  or simply the sun beams      breaking    the  clouds   as   the "drizzle" stopped.

In all cases, the reflex shielding the eyes is referring to an  "unseen"  association with light.

The  displacement  of  the  focal  point, gave way for an uneasy balance  between  light  and  dark , between   fullness   and   emptiness.

These signs are obscurely suspending the moment, leaving it unresolved whether   the door is opening now to  a new hope, or is going to be shut now.

That is how Dewailly introduce us to pure and luminous daily scenes where serenity, melancholy, true love are there in these stolen moments.
